Default Wheel/Suspension Order of Operations

2014 JKU Sport

Question:

If I were to get my suspension done, and throw back on stock wheels for a few days to a week or so before I get my new wheels and tires will I still be able to drive on the street, or will I rub bad? OR the other way, If I throw on 35's on 17x8.5 wheels with proper back spacing not lifted for a few days, and drive on the street only, then get my lift put on. Will I be ok. I ask only because I'm going to 2 different places possibly, and want to know which is safer and doable in order first..if this makes sense. LOL

So you're asking if you can take The tires you currently have on your jeep now....that don't rub....lifting the jeep so that it's capable of fitting an even bigger tire......and putting them back on... And asking if it will rub?

If I understood this currently, I don't see how you would even question that..

No. So Im all stock now. Im getting my wheels and tires at one place but lift installed at another place. I'll have to set appointments, which should I do first and be ok to drive to the other place? 35's at stock height..and drive over to the place to have lifted, or get it lifted first, and drive over to wheels and tire place on stock wheels?

I would get the lift done first. No issues running stock tires and rims with lift. My 2 cents.

There have been a few reports of stock rims contacting the new swaybar links that come in some lifts. The 'fix' is just to swap the links to the inside of the brackets.

If you get the tires first, you may rub at full turn or when going over bumps/dips, but it shouldn't be too bad.

Or ... you can just throw the new tires in the back and drive them to the shop doing the lift.

Other than maybe looking a little goofy, depending on how high you're lifting, there are no issues throwing the stock wheels/tires back on.

Yeah it would be just for the day, most likely in my garage sitting after I wouldn't drive but 5 miles, and then driving to the other place. So lift first it sounds like..Thanks guys!
