Default Wheel and tire question

Hello all, I'm fairly new to the forum and have been reading and learning lots, thanks for the info...a few quick questions, I'm going to replace my stock rims on my 2012 jku with 17x9 rims and looking to do 33x12.5 tires, wondering if anyone has a similar set up and how much has it effected your mpg's? Read some info bout reprogramming the computer, would that be necessary? Any other info would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you

I dropped from 23 mpg on the hiway to around 17 when I went from stock to 33's.

I have that combo and I lost 1 or 2 MPG's, but keep in mind that if you don't reprogram the speedometer, the odometer is off also. This is why a lot of people think they lost a lot of MPG's when going to a taller tire. But in reality, their MPG calculations are off.

i have a 2012 unlimited and just put on 295 70 17, which are about a 33.5 inch tire and i went from about 19 highway to 17 highway. so from all other posts i've read it's a safe bet to say you'll lose about 2 mPG's, and that's with me recalibrating the speedometer which from the factory reads a bit high, so from the factory you're speedo is giving you more mpgs than what you're really getting in reality cuz it's reading high. after recalibrating my speedo with a procal and gps i'm now getting about 17 cruising at 75 i'm sure i'd do better at 60-65 though.

I upgraded to 35s, I haven't check my gas spending, but I did not have to do anything to the speedometer....I checked the speed with my GSP and my speedometer reads that same as my GPS.
