Default Wheel width for 37" tire?

Hello All,

Making decisions about proper wheels to get in prep. for upgrading to 37" tires. I would like to stay in the 12.5 - 13.5 inch wide tire, so would an 8-inch or 9-inch wide wheel be best?

Thank in advance for suggestions.

8" will work great with 12.50 and be on narrow side with 13.50 but it'll be fine. 9" will work with well with the 13.50's and kind of on the wide side with 12.50's.

Is it better to be wide or narrow in relation to the tire width?

for off road purposes, it's better to have a narrow wheel (8" wheel with 12.50 wide tire is common) as it will help hold your bead when aired down.
