Default Wheels: Powder Coat vs Paint

Hey guys, I want to have my oem 17" wheels done black. I'm deciding between powder coating or painting them. Which have you had good/bad luck with? What generally looks better; lasts longer; is more price friendly? I've grown to like the matte finish more than glossy. I've read that powder coating can hide cracking in wheels.

Also, either way I go, should I take the wheels off myself and take them in to save some money? Or should I have them do it because of the tpms?

Pictures are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

As someone who powdercoats and paints for a living now, powdercoat all the way. It is what the factory uses.

Plasti-dipped mine and love it. Local shop wanted $600 to powder coat, thought it was a joke. Two cans of black and one can of glossifier cost me $20 and covered all 5 wheels. Would definitely recommend.

I've heard they peel off pretty easily. Have you had any issues scrubbing your wheels clean?

Thanks! I'm leaning towards powder coating because I want it to hold up like it was factory.

Its way better. Plastidip looks like crap after a couple times wheeling. and its a really flat shine that does not look good. IMO.
