Probably not a bad idea. Are you getting any insurance money at all? AEV's are around $800 I think, but someone here might have a take-off.

The AEV hood is nice, I just installed mine. The issue was it came damaged from shipping and once mounted it needed some work to correctly match body lines. So a extra 400 was spent on that. Then once I painted the hood, new body armor the doors and windshield frame didn't match because the factory paint is not as good as my new stuff. So the entire jeeo was painted.

Don't get me wrong love the hood glad I bought it just wish it would of been packaged better. When you pay that much more care should be taken.

The first time I suffered hail, I waited around for about six months until someone local on the forum had a take-off hood in the right color for sale. Paid $250 for that and it was in excellent shape. The second time I paid a paintless dent repair place $500. That $250 hood lasted all of three months before the second incident.

Default AEV hood + snorkel, Borla exhaust, chip, lights this week

Got the AEV hood installed as one of my first upgrades, looking very nice !!! Paint it locally though as it is difficult to get the exact match.

Was it back to perfect after the paintless dent repair folks did their thing?
