Default Whistle while you drive...

I've read plenty of the posts out there on the CAI's making a whistle noise at around 1800 rpms +/-.

I've even taken the entire intake off to see what the whistle sounds like... still wistles...

So has anyone figured out anything to do about it, other than putting back the stock box?

Yeah, I hear mine too sometimes (stock air intake). Good thing I read about the CAI whistle here -- although it still took me a while to put 2 and 2 together. :-)

The famous clutch squeak (kinda sounds like a whistle) also happens just around 1800 RPM... are we sure it is two different things?

Doesn't that happen when you're shifting and/or using the clutch? I've only noticed my whistle a few times (like 2-3) and I'm pretty sure I was in 3rd or 4th gear around 1800-2200rpm pressing on the gas - no clutch involved.

Mine whistled a lot around 2,000 RPM's with just the AEM intake installed. Now that I have a Magnaflow catback and Outerwears pre-filter, the whistle is all but gone. I don't know why that would have made a difference, but it did.

In the past, most intake whistles are caused by the air swirling and passing through the TB. Seems to be a standard noise, amplified by aftermarket intakes on most vehicles. I am pretty sure ours is the same noise, caused by the same symptoms. Mine was more noticeable with an intake since the element was open, and allowed in more air. The stock box seems to reduce most of the whistle.
