That is a great question, it seems like everyone recommends them. I got them with my 3.5 inch lift, and im not all that impressed. The ride is more rough/harsh than stock. I havent tried other brands, but everyone recommended them and im not that thrilled. Im sure there will be a lot of people who tell you they like them, so i guess it is just me.

i haven't tried many different shocks on my JK, but i did replace the stock (sport) with adapters with Bilstein 5100's and there was a definite difference for the better.

maybe the ride qaulity issue is the lift springs and not necesarrily the shocks for you? or perhaps a little of both?

i am going to replace my BB with the Rock Krawler springs (ordered this week) and keep the same shocks for now. i have some fox shocks that will fit that i may try out for grins after the springs go on and i have a chance to ride with them for a while to get a good comparison.

i think it is a preference of price as well as the bilstein's are a "good shock" for the money.

That very well may be the case. My lift was really cheap, so i guess i cant expect too much.
