Default Why now after 3 years

Driving today around 50 mph hit bump with right tire and the front end started to shake. Thus happen twice today
I have a 2.5 TF Lift which has been on there for over a year and tires are 285/70/17 and all 5 are rotated every 3000 miles. Dies anybody haves any ideas or suggestions.

Sounds like to me something has loosened up. Time to check all bolts and torque them dwn to specs. Also check the front TB and make sure the bolt hole isn't wallowed out

Good place to start. Also look for cracks around the track bar brackets when checking your bolts.

Most likely it is something came loose. I don't think it is much to do with the TF lift, check your track bars, most likely the cause of the wobble. Check if the eyes (where the bolt goes through) isn't oval, oval means that it has been loose for a wee while. Tighten everything I would say.

Cheers,

Mark

Another thing to consider is a tire may have become unbalanced and is causing the shake. Try moving the rear to the front if the aforementioned advice doesn't work.

You have experienced death wobble. It is not uncommon and it has happened to alot of JKers. Read this thread carefully and then act accordingly.

X2 on ball joints, tire balance and bent tie rod bar. That is the combo that started my DW after many years of smooth driving with my lift. Replacing the ball joints, and tire rod really did it for me.

Oh, and a leaking steering stabilizer didn't help either, but that's never the cause of DW.

My jeep goes in the shop Monday morning and I hope they find the problem fast. I have read with the DW you have to come to a complete stop but with my jeep I don't have to do that.
