Default Will 33's fit

I'm looking at getting some new tires I got a pretty good quote on some firestone destination m/t 33x12.5 R15 I was wandering if I would have rubbing issues using crager soft 8 rims with 4 in back space. Will be adding 2 inch lift come spring but need tires now not planning on disconnecting swaybar anytime soon until lift installed. I guess someone ordered tires then backed out when they got them in. I eventually wanted to go to 33's but not sure if can pass up deal but need tires and lifting now is not an option.

I think you'll be fine. Unless you're off roading, I wouldn't expect much rubbing.

The stock tires are 32's... so assuming you have a FULL 33" tire, you'll really only have an extra 1/2" of meat in radius...

you shouldnt wast your time with a 2in lift you should just go on Quadratec.com and buy the Skyjacker 3.5" Suspension System with Nitro Shocks it even includes A rear track bar relocation bracket is for the rear axle with all necessary mounting hardware, its only $505.00 so it is about $200 more then the much smaller 2in lift your thinking about getting but with better perks and will give you better off road abilities. Just something to think about... just take the moeny you have for the 2 in and put it aside until you can egt the oother $200 and changed saved up you will be much happier if you jeep was bigger and better performance wise.

I'll have to counter and try and steer you away from the SJ lift. It uses a trackbar relocation bracket that mounts to the axle housing. Many many many people here have had issues with the mount being in that location, leading to headaches down the road. If you were to get the SJ lift kit, keep in mind you'll need to find a different relocation bracket, or invest in some adjustable trackbars...

Also, the SJ lifts tend to run a little short I hear... So a 3.5" lift kit may yield much less than advertised... It also doesn't seem as complete as some of the 2.5" kits, like TeraFlex, who throws in a set of brake line drop brackets, and some longer swaybar links (not to mention it has the better trackbar bracket, and TF has a great repuation on the website). OME is also well known, but costs significantly more and is the least-equipped kit out there (but talking to the people at OME make you wonder if you really need everything the other kits come with....)

Finally, keep in mind, with 2doors bigger lift doesn't always mean better. With the shorter wheelbase, you have to start considering driveline mods sooner, due to the increase driveshaft angles...

Ok well i know many people who have had and still have jk's with that same lift and no problems and have not had to change there drivelines in any way. I just feel that if you plan to go off road what good is a 2.5" BB there will be not much flex room and for the extra $250 you can be alot bigger and be better performance wise. And if you are so againts the SJ lift then he can choose from another 3" or 3.5" kit. 4" seems to be the magic number for needing driveshafts. BB are great for looks and mild offroading but if you plan to wheel often a full suspension lift would suit you better. There are pros and cons to anything you do and most people feel that whatever they have is the best.

I ran 33's before my OME lift and they were fine. I got just a bit of rub on the plastic airdam backing out of my driveway at full-lock, but other than that no problems.

I should't have that problem I think that is the piece I removed due to it getting filled up with snow and ice and making alot of noise, they make enough noise as it is. Thanks for the info. I am probably only going to go for the 2 in lift for a little more hight and clearance but I need to watch the clearance of may garage door currently I only have about 5 inches or slightly less of clearance stock then with the 2" lift and 33's that will take me to less than 2 1/2" of clearance (safety net). Trust me I would love to go higher.

Stock 32's dont rub, I dont see why you would have a problem with 33's and a 2" lift , you will have no problem with a 4" bs with a 12.5" tire. I had that on mine.

i went with the Rustys Offroad 2 inch basic lift shocks and springs and got almost 3 inches from it but it is still new, I think it will drop a little and it breaks in. I am running 33 inch cooper stt and wish I would have went with 35s cause I have a lot of room left to fill.

Make sure you try out the rims on each corner prior to installing the tires.... it seems like some people have no problems fitting 15" rims, others have to grind things to get them to fit.
