Default will 35's work with 4:10 gears

I want to run 35"s with 2.5" lift but I am worried that with 4:10 gears I will loose more power than I would be happy with. So my question is should I stay with 33"s or go up to 35's.

I'm running the same setup now and its ok. Gets a little puggish on the highway, really puggish when its windy. Usually when it gets annoying I just turn off the overdrive. Around town though you dont notice it so much. Getting around 14.5 average mpg.

Thanks for the information, I will stay with the 33's untill I can afford a gear swap.

By adding a CAI and flow-through exhaust you'll get your lost power back. I'm running 35's and have no issues. I was really feeling the power loss until I changed equipment and now can actually accelerate while going uphill in 6th.

Made that big of a difference for you? Even when I had stock tires and intake (no exhaust yet) I couldn't gain any ground on a hill in 6th. Had to go to 5th and sometimes 4th.

There is a 5 mile stretch of interstate leaving town that is a big uphill climb. Before adding the Dynomax exhaust and Airaid CAI, I'd hit it with cruise on going 75 (running my 35" tires) and by the time I topped the climb, I'd lose 10-15 mph even with the pedal floored in 6th, or just be able to hold steady in 5th. Now with the two added, I'm in cruise in 6th the entire trip and never have to hit the pedal with the top and doors on, and just give it a little gas without top/doors. I'm convinced lol. Now I'm just waiting for more availability of aftermarket chips to finish it out. I'm tempted to go with the Jet chip but would rather wait to see if something comes along that can adjust for the larger tires w/o using 3rd party displays.

4.10'S with 35's are fine, but what do I know, I only drove my Jk about 7 miles before the 35's went on (that was to the shop for the lift, then back to work for the wheels and tires). I may never change mine out, I've considered it, but it'a highly managable with 4.10's. And remember, it'a Jeep, you're not going to outrun anybody(even with 5.13's)anyway, ................at least until it comes factory with a Hemi.

I am running 35's on an auto 4 door with 4.10's -

The setup works well until you get on the 65+ freeways with wind. Then the downshift/upshift occurs followed shortly by a push of the OD button.

Gas milage is averaging 14-15mpg mixed city/hwy.
