As I said I do not NEED the air but I have had time where I have had a slow leak where I sure wish I had the air!

If the AEV bumper was a bit cheaper and the Warn Powerplant would fit it I really think that would be the ticket but Im looking at around 3000 for the AEV and Powerplant (but the Powerplant doesnt even work in it)
The extra cost is up to you. You'll be happy with the Power Plant but make sure you're okay with the extra cost of it. That said, the convenience factor is nice. My wife's Exploder's tires lose a few pounds every month and using the Power Plant really beats driving it several miles to the closest station.

I love my Shrockworks bumper. You cannot question the quality so all that matters at that point is if it looks good to you. The Shrockworks was definitely made with the Power Plant in mind and the airflow is not significantly restricted.

Yeah I figure the Shrockworks like yours with the Powerplant will cost me about the same as the AEV with a normal Warn...

It just worries me to spend that much on something this new when there have been reports of thermal issues which Warn is aware of and they say has not addressed yet.

You have the exact front set up I am debating... Id also have the fog lights mounted on the bumper as well though.

I'm not sure how widespread that problem is. There may be some specific catalyst to it, or maybe it was a bad batch of sensors. I've heard of a few people having problems, but there are allot of PowerPlant owners. And there is a work-around in the chance that it does occur.

Which Powerplant model is better for typical off-roading?
the HP or the HD?

We use the 8000 Lb champion winch from Costco that cost 299.00 + tax. so far it has served us pretty well. After several uses on the same trail the battery light shows up quite often. We plan on getting a Yellow top Optima battery.
We do plan on getting a new Warn winch and put the Champion back on the cradle it used to be on.

Why not get the Ramsey 8500? It's $549 at NorthernTool right now; but, it was $299 about 3 months ago. I'm waiting for it to go down again.

I've heard some fairly knowledgeable people, speak highly of the T-Max winches. Summit Racing sells them as their own brand. $449 for a 9,000 lb. winch seems like a good deal.

The only difference is the gearing. The HD is going to give you a few more thousand pounds in pulling power, but it will consequentially be slower. You probably don't need it unless you're planning on pulling heavier vehicles out of a bad situation (like some sucking mud). The rating on the HP will be fine for most if not all of your pulls. And you can always throw in a snatch to double the line pull capacity.

That's the set-up for me! I have the bumper on order, and will order the PowerPlant for delivery and install as the bumper arrives. For me, having air is more important than the winch (but the winch is important, too). I use air multiple times a year for refilling low trailer tires, topping off bicycle tires, etc. I've been using a small Craftsman compressor that plugs into the cigarette lighter, but it's way too light duty to refill four tires after a day of wheeling. I, too, want the convenience of one install doing two jobs.
