ok i apologize for beating a dead horse. so today i went to the compost with some wheeling buddies and we had alot of snow and ice and my buddy gets stuck so its a good day to use the winch again. today its around 20 or 30 degrees out and it wasnt tearing into the rollers today so does the temp really have something to do with it. as much as i like the synthetic line i think i may try the wire rope unless i can get this figured out.

Delrin is much harder than polyethylene. The delrin rollers are machined by cnc or a lathe much like steel rollers. I *think* the polyurethane are molded.

NO, I haven't had a chance to use either, yet. My 9.5ti, Viking synth line, and lights and a bunch of other stuff is sitting on the bench in the garage waiting for the arrival of my LoD bumper.

David from Northridge talked me out of the delrin and suggested the ploy rollers instead as they would rattle less. ( the delrin ones rattle like steel, he said) so your post has me a bit concerned that I should have stayed with my first thought.

Do you have any pictures of the damage that you can post? I'm sure many here are curious about it.

I did notice in the pic above that your rollers are red. I thought the Daystar's were always black...?

thankyou for the reply i really appreciate it. the rollers came in red or black. as far as a pic ill see what i can do about it in an hour or so ok. i mean the best way i can explain was it looks liked the line was cutting threw butter. arent the rollers suppose to roll with the line? i know its a dumb question but it seems to me like they dont roll some times they do but when theres a bit of tension on it it just cuts right threw it.

well i just figured it would be less ware on the line by having the rollers also not heating the line up by having it go over the metal hawse it just seems this was a better choice. heres the pics of the damage

and these rollers are designed for the synthetic line so they say.

ok i just wanted a second opinion before i call them and complain about it thats why i wanted to know if any one else out there has had the same thing happen so il be giving them a call and see what they can do for me or possibly get a different product that would better suit me i just really like the way this system was setup and it seemed like it was a pretty good setup so hopefully i just got a bad batch and this can be taken care of.

Can you turn those rollers by hand? Looks like they froze and the line drug across them.

yea thats what i thought to, i can roll them by hand. the inner ones spin no problem but the ones that are all messed up can roll but now because of the disformity theres more resistance so its making it harder for them to roll. ill be giving them a call on monday and hopefully get this taken care of
