sooooo
Anyhow the cable spools off the bottom of the drum as usual .... BUT I cannot see this being right. I outlined the rope in yellow and you can see the fairlead is keeping some wicked tension on the rope as it its opening does not lighn up with the bottom of the drum.
The rope drags pertty badly while being wound on the drum. This can't be good especially with a load on it. Should I relocate the fairlead?

I got it from Amazon.com. Could not in any way shape or form give that up. And from all I have read I have no quams at all. Just search for 264100PPW or 10,500LB Recon winch.
Anyhow Yeah That fairlead does need to come down huh. the drag across it is pretty nasty and is stressing the rope and making for some extra work for the winch.

Just ordered mine Friday from TruckandWinch, who are the same people selling them on Ebay, and I have been reading the same reviews, they all for the most part seem to love the Recon winch. Can't wait to get mine, but I havent seem them for as good a deal as you recieved, best I could find was $462.12 shipped.

Congrats! Looks good. Just drill some holes and bring the fairlead down and your all set to try and get stuck. Its a lot harder when your trying to get stuck. Lol

I want to see if I can buy a cover from the truck and winch guy. Wow I am seeing prices from 439 up to 1025 . Granted I got mine cheap and the shipping was 63.95 but still It is a bang up deal for the 400 dollar mark. Especially considering that the Dyneema Synthettic-Rope is a quality line too.
Don't forget I have been looking and hemming and hawing At winches for a Loooong time. I then started to take a more serious look At recons about 6 weeks ago. Every night search and blammo.
I think I'm going to go walk the dog with mine .... be back in a few LOL .... Wait I don't have a dog. .... well I do have to get the trash cans at the end of the driveway ..

Wow I moved that puppy a ton! Now the line feeds in a perfect alignment with the drum. If anything it is still a touch high where it will be in dead nuts level when line is spooled out about half way..
