Default Winch question

Don't know much on this subject. I am thinking about a new front bumper and the question comes up "to winch or not to winch". With only moderate wheeling in mind could someone recommend a good winch that won't break the bank but that will perform in case of emergency?

Thanks

I was looking at the 10k smittybilt winch, never heard of the gorilla ones. They are nice looking though...anyone have experience with both?

I have the Smitty XRC10 and it works well so far (I have not used it much). I got it for $369 to my door. Eventually I plan to move to a Warn Powerplant, I just did not have the dough to spend $1400 on a Winch.

Got the Smittybuilt 8K for 300. It seems good enough for now.

Smittybilt has a new 10,000 pound winch with air compressor for 749.99. Don't know how it compares to the Powerplant but for the price...

You can get the Gorilla wireless for 389 at 10K or wired for 325 if you up for saving as much as you can or your like me an want a black winch. These are Ebay prices of course.

Gorilla has a good name in the ATV world and I haven't heard anything bad about them from Jeepers.

Some good food for thought! I really don't want to spend 1500.00 for a winch I may hardly use. I am thinking not over $500.

Thank you for all the feedback!
