9,500 should be all you need. Anything else would be overkill/underkill unless you have alot more weight on your rig.

yep.....

plus, i find that when you go wheelin with others, you tend to have more options available to you

9500is more than enough. The 12000 is just lower gearing. It will pull slower during recovery.

I have the 9.5ti and I lifted a JK that was on its side to it wheel. I did it from above the other jeep and it did it without hesitation. But it was a strain on the old steel cable. The new one is synthetic.
