Default Winch wiring questions

I have a 2012 Rubicon and trying to wire up the winch. Looking to set up a high amp distribution block for the winch and an Anderson connection for jumper cables. How have you guys done it?

Its pretty straight forward. Do you have a question or something or do you think you are the first to do it?

Im sure it’s been done many times. How has everyone else pulled power from the positive post? Where did you mount the power distribution block? It’s kind of tight under the hood. Is there another style positive terminal that can be used? I hear lots of guys saying don’t tie into the other posts on that terminal.

I routed the winch cables to avoid as much as practical any heat sources, adding high heat resistant loom over it for further protection. Routed it up to the positive terminal on my aux battery (I have dual-batteries), cut off the cable there, soldered on a new terminal, and connected it directly to the post on the battery where everything else is connected. In my JK, the distribution block function is handled by the sPOD. No way it would support a winch. Ditto for my Gladiator, except there is no sPOD (have the OEM aux switches, though, but they are, sadly, on the start battery). If you'd like to upgrade your battery cable terminals, which is not a bad idea, then I suggest look into marine-grade terminals. I have a friend that did boat maintenance in a past life and that's what he used. Made of tin-plated brass, they are quite nice.
