Depends on how much you plan to use it, and what the budget is. For occasional, a cheaper one will work fine. Also, a good deep cycle battery will give you the power you need. I went with an Optima yellow top,and it works great.

Just be a good energy conservationist when using your winch and you'll be fine. Allow the battery to recharge for a little while before shutting down the Jeep. Or diveing off into another pull.

Well, I went with a rugged ridge 8000 lb winch. Just put a RR bumper on and the winch will go in this week, pictures to follow!

Did you see the research as to why the warn broke internal parts, it was determined that a 16,000lb pull mounted to a 9,500lb rated mount, the mount deflected stressing the case resulting in broken internals. Funny how they didnt give all the info the first time.
