Would it help?
I have a '07 JK unlimited w/ 6 speed. I replaced the stock wheels/tires with 17" pro comps and 33" tires. Would a flash pack or super chip help me calibrate my speedo with the new tire size? Also wondering if I would benefit performance/mileage wise from using the flashpaq or superchip?
I have a superchip and it will take care of the tire size correction. It can also fix the tire pressure sensor so you can run lower pressure with those bigger tires also to get a good ride and proper wear pattern. It is very easy to use and easy to update via the web.
It will make the speedo correct and should help the pcm give you the best fuel mixture since it will know what speed you are doing so it can calculate the load on the engine.

I have the 6 spd as well and don't use any of the engine tuning features because it messes up the off idle throttle response. So for me only the special features are useful. It seems like the guys with the autos get more use out of than us. I got a good deal on mine and am running 35s so I have to use it for speedo cal and also use the tpms adjusting feature. I did try the crawl mode and it is the only one that give throttle response off idle similar to stock but can't be used on the street because at a certain rpm range the response suddenly changes. I like having, just can't get as much use out of it since I don't have the auto tranny.
If you buy a used one make sure they removed any programming used on their Jeep including tire size or you will have to pay a fee to get it unlocked before you will be able to use it.

And yes, probably 90% of the guys that run them with either the manual or auto really like the improved performance.
Don't really know what you mean by saying "the flashpaq "OR" the Superchip. The Flashpaq IS the Superchip. Meaning they are one in the same....Superships MAKES the Flashpaq.

I see in the adds that it advertises you can watch timing advance. Can you adjust the timing curve with the flashpaq? One last question: are there different performance programs? I would love it if there was a program for higher octane (91 or 93). Does it have this?

There are programs for higher octane and they all seem to give some performance improvement. I just don't like the throttle response off idle so I chose not to use any of them.
If you want to use one of the higher octane settings I would not change it until you are really low on fuel to get the most benefit out of the change.
You should go to their website and you can even download an instruction manual if I recal.
