Would you still get 33's if you weren't getting a lift?

I have no intentions of getting a lift but still would like to put beefier rims and tires with an offset so the stance is wider. i'm currently riding on the stock 16's with Goodyear 245/70/16's. I also keep my Jeep in my garage so I can't go to big or it won't fit.

Thanks for the advice in advanced.

put a $29 3/4 Spacer kit on the front and run the 33's.

I ran 33's on my JK for about a week before I had the lift installed. I had no rubbing issues while doing normal driving. I went with 5" of backspacing and the tires barely stick out of the wheel wells. You should have no problem.

Well seeing as how the rubi basically comes with 32's I can't see ANY reason to ever run 33's .. That extra little little bit will not help significantly on the trial and if I am going to go through the time and expanse of getting new tires and a lift I will be going with at least 35’s

I have an X with 29's. So i want to make the upgrade. If you're going to spend the money would you still get the 32's.

There really isn't much difference in 32's and 33's. You will end up seeing 1/2" taller tire.

If I has 29” street tires then YES I would spend the money to get the 33 inch AT's or MT’s ... Which is what I did when the Xterra was stock ... It had 30's and my first Mod was putting on 32x11.5 Interco SSR's (which where actually bigger then most other companies 33's)

Good thread.... I was just contemplateing this issue this morning . I want to wait for more lifts to come out, but my X will be coming with the stock tires and wheels listed above.

Is there any awkward pressure put on the front end by using spacers?

does that price of $30 get you all four spacers?

I would really like to get the 33's on without lifting. Personally looking at Firestone Destination MT's (cause they don't make the dueler MT anymore) or Toyo MT's

I parked next to a Rubi the other day. You actually can tell the diff between the two sizes. My 33" MTR's look noticably bigger... taller/wider. I do acknowledge that my spacers may trick the eye.

If you go with 33's on stock rims, plan on Spidertrax to clear the sway bar, and 3/4 leveling spacer to clear the air dam. (may still rub once sway is disco'd) Aprx spending another $250. If you plan on 35's and stock rims in the future, you'll need the spidertrax anyway.

For price purposes, it would be far cheaper to buy some Rubi take-offs from a member here.

Here's some crappy pics with 33's and spacers. I was waiting on posting better pics until I get my 3/4" spacers on.

Good luck with the decision.

Thanks for the advice, I'm going with the 33's. I also went with a rim that has 4.5 backspacing, so that will hopefully alleviate problems.

As far as picking up Rubi wheels, I thought of that but wanted to go with a black rim. I like the combo with the red.
