Would you use a wireless winch controller?
Hi! Yep, sure would. I do think that the good 'ol "pig tail" should be carried just in case. When the chips are down...nothing beats a hard wired system for brute force dependability though.
I have yet to install a winch but am considering the Ramsey 9500 with the remote option for a very soon purchase. Take care... Mike

For safety reasons, I like the fact that you physically have to plug in the remote for my winch. I don't want some random radio wave makin' my winch go... And I would most likely sit on it and have it goin' when I don't want it to....
but just my .02

Already use one. (T-max)
I do always carry the wire in case the batteries on the wireless controls die...
T-max wireless on my EW-9000-WCP requires plugging in a receiver to the winch for the wireless transmitter to activate.
The transmitter end that came with mine looks like a standard wired remote (not the key fob type), and you wouldn't sit on it without knowing it...

I have one for my Warn winch. Not sure about the facts of the electronics, but I would think the manufacturer adjusts the frequencies like on garage doors and remote auto door locks. I keep the controller in the storage area right next to the pigtail for direct wired use.
