I am running 37's on a 30 and I have broken 2 pinion gears(5.13's) One axle(the driver side). This stuff happened wit around 15,000ish miles and lots of wheeling, mainly rocks.I am easy on the gas,but as you will surely find out from many people on this forum,if you wheel you will need to build your axles!

Default A builgt 30 is pretty strong

Call Dave at Northridge. I think he'll tell you that a 30 with GOOD gears, lockers, axleshafts and ujoints performs very well with moderate 37's.

Most of these parts are warranteed for years if you reak them too!

A D30 with chromoly shafts, gussets, and tube sleeves would be pretty stout, the main concern would probably be the pinion if you're running higher (numerically) gears (which is a probability with 37's).

I have broken the front pinons twice, with 5.13's,this is the main reason that I am wanting to change out my front axle as soon as funds allow.Having the gear sets replaced is getting kind of costly. The bummer part of this is that I have done the chromoly axles, the gussets, the Rockrawler drag link and tie rod,and had a locker installed. So I guess I keep hoping that nothings gonna break with all that stuff in my little axle.I should have listened to the old timer Jeep guys when I went to 37's!(this is my first Jeep).

so long as you don't do any hard wheeling, it can definitely be done. having said that, i couldn't even get my dana 44 with chromo shafts to hold up with 37's:

What are moderate 37's?? I think any 37" tire is big, no in-betweens.
