Default Yet another mesh grill mod question....

I'm sorry if this has already been answered but I've been searching the forum all morning and my head is spinning from reading all the grill mod posts...

I'm planning on biting the bullet and doing the mesh grill mod. I plan on using the black plastic gutter guard material. I noticed alot of people using the zip tie downs and using gorilla glue or an epoxy to hold the anchors in place ans the adhesive loosens up from the heat. Couldnt I just do a few blobs of epoxy directly to the mesh and inside of the grill? i was actually debating using Liquid Nails as its a thicker adhesive and i feel would hold better during curing time. has anyone else tried this or shoulld I stick with Gorilla glue?

I used Gorrilla Brand, Super Glue on each tab. I did not remove the adhesive that came with the tabs. I just added one drop of glue on each tab.

Use black zip ties which are indoor/outdoor rated.

All still holding after about 2 months.

Default Only issue

The only issue I have was some of the connectors came loose because of the backing separating from the actual plastic connector. I just removed it and added the glue to the connector and it is holding fine now.

I wouldn't skip using the zip tie down blocks... I don't think using liquid nails or gorilla glue alone would work because the surface you glue to is not flush with where the gutter guard lays. So you have to bend or curve the gutter guard a bit and no epoxy will hold without being held in place a bit.

Hope that made sense and answered your question. Personally I used super glue, I'm sure liquid nails would work as well as gorilla glue... but again, use the zip tie blocks!

I used gorilla you and the zip tie pads. I stuck the pads down than ran glue around the edge making sure to us enough to get the plastic pad not just the double sided tape if that makes sense. Been holding strong for 2 years.

Came out nice! Used the plastic gutter guard as it seemed easier to work with. Doesn't look cheap at all. Was sick of pulling out leaves. Bed-lined the grill with Duplicolor spray on bed liner as well. Took less than 3 hours to do the whole job...including dry time. Did not take the Jeep out for at least 24 hours afterward. Used epoxy on the mounts...and then smeared more on top afterward.

I used gorilla glue the first time... and it pulled loose after a few days. Went back with JB weld (epoxy) and it has held for over a year now.

I hadn't thought about using glue. I just cleaned the location for my contact points really good and just used the sticky square pad. I'll check to see how well it's holding tonight but don't remember seeing it out of place. I did this mod a couple weeks ago and used the black plastic gutter guard from Lowes as well.

If you can find a metal mash, then you don't even need any glue to hold it,
Just bent it into a U shape, and it will hold by itself!
Easy to pull out for cleaning and maintain: [See here]

I don't like your version. It changed the color of your Jeep from green to white...
