You build it
After sniping the forum over the last few years i am ready to live up to my name (MyJeepAteMyWallet). Initially i bought a 07 unlimited for my wife with build plans but decided to buy my own 08 2 door Rubicon. i just paid off my wifes jeep and im going to need tires so here is the million dollar question. what would you do?
all i have done so far is the RR modular front bumper with my warn winch up front.
here is what i am thinking
RR rear bumper with tire swing
Bushwaker Flat Flares
ProComp 7031 or 7033 17" rims
BFG KM2 tires 35 or "maybe" 37's
little lift like the procomp 2.5 on sale right now from 4wd (like 250 bucks after rebate)
i need some opinions and buying advice. i like one stop shopping but im a whore for a sale. yes i know there is a search button but the info spans 3-4 years with the site. there has been changes in products and styles so thats why i am looking for some fresh opinions. this is my DD, 80+ miles a day, wheel when i can but not a lot of good spots in Eastern NC.
WWYD?

For a lift I would get the Rusty's 3 1/4" lift. It is pretty fair priced, it has really nice and sturdy springs, Rusty's shocks, nice powdercoated front and rear adjustable Trac bars, and quick disconnects for around $500. I did that kit except I did the 2" springs in the rear with 3 1/4" up front to level out the rake. Then I did 33" tires, they look great with the lift and drive/handle great. I would be concerned with anything over 35" with that size lift, wouldn't want any fender rubbing. Then again I'm not a large tire fan anyways so its really up to what you like best and what your comfortable with.
With a 2.5" lift and flat fenders you can fit 37's with room to spare. That will of course lead to a host of other places to spend money. As was just stated, I would try to trim your stock fenders before you buy aftermarket flats. If you screw up or aren't happy you aren't out anything but a couple of hours of your time. I have a 2-door with trimmmed fenders, 1" spacers and Unlimited coils and it has lots of room with 37's on stock wheels. I did some other things like some pich weld and rock rail trimming (search Planman's writeups), control arms, shocks and sway bar links as well but not bad on a budget. As far as product recommendations I have seen in person and in action both Rusty's 3.25" kit and the Terflex 2.5" kit and both were very good quality for the money. Both were running 35" tires with stock fenders. Keep in mind the KM2 tires run small. The 35's measure out ~34" and the 37's are under 36". Good luck with whatever you decide.
if i hacked my own fenders would the tires stick out past the fenders?
i seen someone post the bushwakers are under 400 somewhere.
any thoughts on the procomp lift? crazy rebates are swaying my judgement.

if you're wanting to go with a 2.5 lift, i would go with a teraflex coil lift. or you could just go with the rock krawler 3.5 lift
i wouldn't go with flat fenders, i'd trim them and just go with the 37's. you'll be alright. good luck.
