I knew they were 16s. It was my thinking though, that since the wheels are almost indentical to those in that first link, that the OP would agree that getting the right wheel requiring no grinding would be more important than trying to put a 15" wheel where it was not designed to go. Perhaps I was wrong. Unless I am mistaken, as of yet, no one makes a JK specific 15" wheel, so, you're just guessing as to whether they will fit. The Black Rocks are a JK specific wheel. They WILL fit.

You are correct on the 16" being Jeep specific and fitting, but don't want to go with 16's. Thanks for the link though. I did a google search and did find that they make 15x10 with a 5x5 pattern. I really like these com/shop/Black-Rock-Series-997-Type-8-Steel-Wheel-p-19296.html[/url]

Or I could just get what everyone else gets that I know fits in a 15"er, but that's not my style, I don't like being like everyone else.

The saga continues...

Several companies make the 15s in a 5x5 pattern. That's an older ford pattern. It's been around forever. The problem comes in with backspacing and offset. Since no one makes jk specific 15s, it's a guessing game. Good luck, though. There have been many people who have found 15s to work successfully. Others, not so much. The jk has different calipers on some models and that's where the difference lies. But grind away.....it's your Jeep.

BTW, one of the reasons I want to go with the 15's, is that the spousal unit gave me the green light to put the 36x13.50-15s that are currently on my CJ, on to the JK. The CJ has a badly cracked bellhousing right now so I'm not driving it. I recently had a rotator cuff repair and can't yet tackle that job...so, instead of watching those perfectly good tires just sit there, I want to put them on the JK. That's why the wanting to stick with the 10" wide as well.

And I'm cheap. To me, it is pointless to spend lots of money on wheels that I am going to bash on the rocks, so.... I don't want to spend $100, or more, per rim (or wheel if you prefer).

Not gonna grind, or use spacers. I had posted earlier that I am uncomfortable grinding on brake calipers, particularly on a vehicle that is only 1 year old and still under warranty.

Thanks again for the earlier linkthough, I really like those that I posted a link to.

So I go to one of the local tire places today to see about test fitting wheels. The guy tells me that a 15"er won't fit my Jeep. I tell him my dilema and what I want and he reluctantly leads me over to an area they have some used rims. He finds one and we go to see if it will work. I can tell with the way he's acting, he doesn't want it to fit just so he can prove me wrong. Well guess what, it did!

So, find out they are a US Wheel Daytona. He wants to sell me a set for $90 each plus shipping. Tell him no thanks. Come to find out, they have them on summit for $65. Will get around to ordering some eventually. Will keep everyone posted once I do.
