CT checking in
Isn't gaylord state park the one in glastonbury? If so I will try to find out more about it in the next few days, my girlfriend lives there.
Yes, urban exploring in back parking lots gets old quick. I did it once get her all muddy and then thought. I could of done the same in my fathers soccer mom tahoe.
I have found a few access roads over by prat & whitney in middletown. People ofther then me have been wheeling there judging by the tracks but my problem came when I could not get out. (I'm and not stupid and will not post I got out on a public forum If you want more info on the details PM me, you'd be shocked what cops look at online.) As for the meet I would love to have one once it warms up a little bit, If we could get weekly or monthly meets together it would be great. Even if its only a few of us every time it is amazing how fast they grow once word gets out.
All of you are more then invited to our tuner network meet on april 1st. We have the top floor of the winter parking garage and believe me the drive down is worth it and I can't even gamble. For the march meet we had 75 cars and trucks and it was in the 20's. http://www.tunernetwork.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6816 everyone is welcome we have more brand represented then you can think of, from honda to ford, chevy to mitsu, toyota to jeep, there was even a ferrari kicking around last season.
Just a real quick though where in ct is everyone located? I can see if I know any where we could all meet and call some places to make sure it is cool with them.
Hey All.
1st - Hope you had a nice morning ride today Clubber - I see all the white sh1t melting away today, and that means one step closer to running topless!
Speaking of which - when I did that for the first time late last month, there was some pretty savage "seatbelt flapping" going on... I've read on another post that velcro straps will take care of that problem, but I'm having a tough time picturing exactly how you'd use them to secure the belt from the wind... any thoughts from the CT brain trust?
2nd - DMM - Thanks for reminding me about old "Aircraft Rd." down there. I remember visiting their factory before as a consultant (I worked in their East Hartford campus, but have been down that way a few times, and now I remember how "desolate" it is out there).
As far as going to a tuner meet, I appreciate the invite, but that's not really my thing - but again, really appreciate the invite.
3rd - about my earlier post about camping: I've been all over the state DEP's website, and can't find the state forest/campground I was thinking of... it was in very NW CT, but none of the names they list are even remotely like what I was thinking of... so I have to assume that either the state changed the name of the park (likely?), or else it's no longer a "state" park... it was about 11 years ago, so anything's possible I guess, but we're talking WAY northwest CT - definitely not Glastonbury.
4th - I talked to my salesman a week or two ago, and he mentioned (off-the-record) that he and his friends use to wheel around some "no-no" spots back in the day... I'm not giving up specifics, but he did mention that it was somewhere in Bristol, and that they'd get "chased away" by Tilcon security occassionally...
SO - what do y'all think about a summertime get-together somewhere? I think that, without some "private property" authorized usage, we're looking at a relatively tame wheeling session, but there are some "out in the sticks" parts of the state that might be worth looking at... I'm thinking the Colchester region (my uncle used to own a bunch of "primitive" land out that way, but for all I know, they've developed the crap out of it by now - I was a little kid back then, and he's long gone).

Hey Guys..........Yea a get-together in the warmer months sounds ok , and by that time i'll get to know this rig a little better. Had it out kinda early this morning, nothing off road but nice, hilly ,quiet roads near some reservoirs.
Looking forward to the ride to work tomorrow ( I wonder why ), hope that feeling lasts a long time !!........................

hoping not to find any dings or scratches by some jelous punk when you finally do get out of work and to your new vehicle.....Talk about mental torture.
Oh, and uh....Welcom to the CT thread, and the whole forum in general Drinkingmymilk. It's good to have another person from CT in here.
I myself am from Manchester.
A warm weather get together sounds cool.
Right - I have to park in Hartford, in a paid lot, and have been lucky so far (and the side steps probably help a little?) but I've been courteous enough not to smash up the doors of people that park too close to me, hoping that the favor will be returned... On the one hand, "it's a Jeep" but I think that the only "battle scars" I'm going to be OK with are the ones that me & nature put on together...
Hello Everyone
...................... Sounds like all are having fun with their new toys! It' a beautiful thing! Milk........... Gay City has no offroad'n there. All the powerline roads are blocked off, so can't do that. There is one place, that I can think of, to do MUD!
MUD!
MUD
in fact, Connecticut River MUD. The one drawback, is that a lot of larger lifted rides, some with 40" tires go thru, so the odds of getting stuck are real good. Have to be prepared!!!!! It's in Portland. Chopper.............Manchester, You must know Steve down at Four Wheel Drive Performance. He did up my other ride a '98 Tahoe 2DR with a 6" Fabtech Lift. Clubber................... Sounds like xmas in March for You
888............. I quess Your hav'n a ball, too
Maybe some kin of gathering would be cool. Still need to get my jeep first! Stay CooL

dkooz ..whats up with the rig ? Is it on the rails ?Have you been calling cust. serv. or what ?
So far still lovin' my rubi, took the back seat out sat., put some black carpet back there to keep it clean, ( like to take firewood home from work ) scrached up the plastic a bit though. Was a little pissed but can't notice it that much.
Almost time to go to work.................
