CT checking in
I've been told that after something like this happens,
the carpet ends up smelling like a wet dog....is it true?
The guy that told me about his said he had to remove
the carpet and toss it out because of the stink.
Something makes me think that he might not have let it
dry out enough, and it probably got mouldy.
And Mike,....I didn't realize you had the sill guards.
If the material that they are made of is as thick as I think,
then I can understand why the doors would leak there.
I'd have to look at them to be sure, but I have a mod in my
head that may fix the problem. But like I said...I'd have to
see them up close and personal.

I'm thinking that people that have the perpetual wet dog smell probably have a persistent leaky top or something like that, not just a one-time soaking.
As far as seeing it in person: Sounds good - when are we wheeling?
Hey there Sue....Are you ignoring me or just don't wanna answer my question's?[/quote]
the question about if my jeep is leased why do i spend $$ to add accessories to make it look better? that question?
i do it because i have loved to modify cars, jeeps, whatever for years...my husband and I both have that in common. I know that you never het back what you put into it, but i just enjoy working on it and learning new things. Whatever car, truck, SUV i own we have always changed for the better. After watching fast & furious years ago, we spent almost 16 thousand on a Honda, it had 100 thousand miles on it!! we came in 1st place in a show in NJ, we ended up selling it for only 6 grand. We had to...we were getting pulled over everytime we took it out. Never got a ticket because everything was legal...it was just that the cops "assumed" we were kids and we were up to no good!! So...thats why i do what i do. plus i really like this jeep..i might just keep it and when the lease is up...buy another to play with!

The problem is in conditions like we have now, where it's warm during the day, but not TOO warm... if you had a leaky top and a bunch of standing water inside your Jeep, you'd possibly be having some mold issues, but definitely would have a stagnant "swamp ass" smell.
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. Anyone know of any trails near Danbury? I would like to take a ride up to Tolland some day but would like a lift and bigger tires for the water crossings.
He's about the same distance either way. From danbury to where I go is probally 95 miles at max.
