Trail ride
Hey guys, all the pics of the ride today look great. Glad to hear everyone had a great time and no major carnage from what I could see in the pics. Good to see that you made it out Jeb and represented for the stock rigs. How did you do?
I had fun at the game but a rough loss for sure and would have been more fun sitting on my ass in the JK on the trails than in the parking lot and seats in the rain with a loss.
Tex, sorry to hear about your wife and daughter being sick. Must be something going around as my wife has a fever and all the other unpleasant things that go along with it and bailed on the game herself. My buddy Paul got to go the game and ride copilot in the Jeep. Trying to convert him from his Dodge Ram!!
Anyway, glad you all had fun. The pics look great. That rock hill looks like a blast.

I've bent mine a few times over. It's no big deal. Just re-adjust accordingly. It's good to have some measurements before wheeling just in case you bend it you can re-set it without an alignment. If you look at some of the pics of the front of my jeep from today.. you can see mine bent in about 3 or 4 places.
You don't by any chance have one of the early one's that lets you flash more than one Jeep do you. I have a small speedo issue. It says I'm going 60 when I'm going 69-70.

ill see if i can find out about my programer for ya though
I would guess that you would actually need a unit that would allow you to gain direct access to the the vehicles CPU in order to change the perameters that control the speedo.
Like some how input the diameter of your tires so the CPU can accuratly measure the revolutions of the wheels. Since it has wheel speed sensors for the ABS and also to know when you have a tire spinning on the ice or in the mud, the sensor is also what tells the CPU how fast the vehicle is or isn't traveling.
For us folks with 2006 and older models, we have to physically replace a little drive gear which changes the ratio for the speed of the speedo cable...you folks 2007 and newer, don't have a speedo cable. that's why you most likely need to change the perameter. Because a flash will only bring The CPU back to all of it's original stock settings, and it's not going to know that you put bigger tires on it unless you tell it.....Know what I mean?
Think about it...I'd be willing to bet that you have had the problem ever since you changed your tires....right?

If has the Hypertec MAXX Energy power programmer. It changes the eng specs to give more horse power and better shifts. They also can adjust for tire size.
2007-09 JK Wrangler
3.8L engine
Maximum horsepower & torque
Improved fuel economy
Raise top speed limiter
Raise "RPM" rev limiter
Adjust shift points & firmness
Recalibrate speedometer
Lower cooling fan on/off temps
Read, display and clear DTCs
Internet updateable (USB included)
50-state emissions legal
Easy plug-and-play installation
The trick here is the production date on the back of the unit. The early ones can re-program multiple Jeeps. Hypertec realized that people were taking advatage of this and reprogrammed the programmer to save the VIN number. Now you can only program one. For $400 bucks for a computer programmer it should work over and over again.

All in all; Really good group of guys and an awesome trail. Thanks.
Bad news guys and gals. just got a call from my dad, he told me there is a big puddle of reddish fluid on my garage floor where i was parked. you guessed it, tranny fluid. i dunno why i missed it when i looked at my skid after i got off the rock. its allot more bent than i though so much so that the front portion made contact with the tranny pan. from what i could see its leaking around the seal, no way for me to tell if its worse than that. its funny becasue i drove it back to hartford today no problems. im guessing that the P3002 code i was throwing has something to do with this, looked it up but didnt have it listed.
ill be going to the jeep dealer tomorrow down by me. for those of you down here in the hartford area, besides gengras who are the good dealers?

I'd suggest taking off the skid and taking a look. I bet you'd have to pay for this one. Check to see how bad the pan is and that nothing is disconnected underneath. Might be worth ordering seperate and having a transimission shop fix so It's not on the record of jeep.
ima drive down to my friends place right now and do that, i really hope at the very least its just the pan that fucked up and not the whole tranny, like i said i drove about an hr and a half back to Hartford with no problems. plus i finished the rest of yesterday, drove from westfield to amherst then back to my house in wellesley in stop and go traffic for about 2 1/2 hours on the pike, all in all ive already put over 200 miles on it since
