Default _Putting 37's on my 07 JK

My first post on any site - Have been checking out a few different sites for a while now.
I'm pretty new at this off roading stuff but I've got the bug.
My dad had off-roading freinds when I was young and in my early teens my brother had a K5 Blazer, I think it was a 1975, the whole roof came off right up to the wind shield, that's the machine that planted the seed. I'm not a total idiot but I ain't no machanic either.
I got a 07 JK unlimited X 6 speed standard about a year and a half ago. I'm not loaded by any means but I want to start building it up. I want a serious off road machine (without going overboard) New bumpers, winch, spare tire carrier, re-gear and lockers but I really want to put 37's on it. I know I'm going to need lift, not sure how much.

So I guess I'm looking for advise.

The first thing I worry about is if I put these big (heavier) tires on all four corners am I going to break an axle or hub or anything because of the extra weight. I would like to keep my Stock 17" aluminum rims so I guess I'll need to put spacers on all four corners also?

Welcome to JK-Forum. You should be able to find most of your answers in the Modified Tech or in the Modified FAQ.

Welcome to the Forum.

A lot of people are running 37s on 17inch wheels - including me. There is a lot of advice in the Modified section for running that set up. Not sure how many run with the stock wheels though.

Welcome. I don't have 37's, but I would recommend not sticking with the factory wheels because of backspacing and width issues. I am not speaking from experience though. The modified area would be your best friend for all that advice.
