Default Advice On Covers!

Happy Saturday Everyone!!! Hope y'all are well- I'm REALLY wanting to take my soft cover off, but summer's in E. Tennessee can bring unexpected showers. What are my options as far as different covers to allow air + coverage AND air + something I can adjust quickly in the event of rain? Thank y'all!!!

Its Sat.. the day for "wheelin" especially around Rocky Top... Go Vols.. Good question.. you have multiple options.. so here I go: complete cab covers, bikini tops, many brands to choose from. You can see all the availables' on many websites.. in the JKF special forum for supporting vendors: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/vendor_directory.php
Once you pick out a few .. post up more questions..

Thanks Jay! GO VOLS is right!! ((: I have looked at the Bikini tops and love them! I also like the look of the cargo cover + bikini. Obviously I'd have to take out my back seat- is that a difficult task? Is there another option to taking out the back seat and cargo cover where I could leave the back seat? And is there a big difference between the bikini top and the Bimini top? Too many questions? 🤣🤣

Bestop used to have, and I presume still does, a trademark on "bikini" which is why you see all these different names (more than bimini) referring to essentially the same thing. If you don't have a functional reason to keep the rear seat in there, it is probably best to pull it out and maybe put a tonneau cover over the rear. Unfortunately there is not this one perfect solution for what you're looking for. Everything has its drawbacks and you just have to pick the best thing for your situation. It's just kinda part of "jeep life" IMO.

A bikini top will probably be your best bet, and ialthough you will still get wet with hard or blowing rain, it will help keep your electronics from getting drenched.

Hellooooo Jyniphr.. Back seat is bolted to the floor with 8 bolts .. they are installed very very tight.. probably the same for the seat belts (buckle side) bolted to the floor.. one would not need to remove the shoulder belts as they retract up against the "C" pillar post. I would test running with the seats folded down 1st before removal that way would have a more flat area.

Jyniphr - just to add to Jay's comments - if you need to get the seat bolts out some of them (not sure about all) can be seen under floor with the threads sticking through the cage nut. What I did for the front seats was to heat them with a small propane torch for about a minute and that loosened up the factory loctite and made them easy to remove. Just ensure you torque them down enough when reinstalling though. The ones I could not see on the front I carefully heated them from the top and that worked as well but you risk starting a fire doing that or at least melting the carpet.
