Default Hello

Good morning, I just wanted to officially say "hey". I took delivery of the new Jeep Tuesday night, a bright silver Unilimited X. This is the first jeep I've had that I haven't looked at and said, "It needs this, this and this".

Default no more spending!

Thanks for the welcome, but, the story behind the newest jeep in the family is this:

4 years ago my wife decided she wanted a new car. We traded a '98 TJ 4 cyl in for a Mitsu Spyder. Last year she decided she wanted 4wd again (she would take my '99 Cherokee Sport every winter). We looked at the leftover '06 TJs, got offered a screaming deal on one ($5000 of MSRP) and turned it down to wait for the 4 door. The Jeep dealer found a minimilistic Unlimited, ($22,800) but the other dealer wouldn't give it up for us. We worked a deal for a rather loaded 'X' on the lot. I think the only things it doesn't have that is available is floor mats, the 6 disc changer and cigarette lighter. We got it for $100 over invoice.

Now, my lovely wife hasn't driven it more than 3 blocks in the last three days. I think she's a little intimidated by the increased size and the 6th gear. So I have been driving it the last two days and she has been driving my Cherokee. (darn):toung: I like it and can't wait until she decides she wants something else and then I'll get it full time.

32" tires from the factory, how cool is that? The other jeeps I've had would've required 3" lift to comfortably run that size tires!

Welcome to another fellow Pennsylvanian! Congrats on the new JK Unlimited, my wife and I love our white Unlimited. One of these days she is gonna learn to drive standard so she can drive it once in a while.

Hey Dave, wecome to another Pa Guy!,....well you'll love your JK and modding it has been a blast. I'm in Central Pa(Camp Hill) area and plenty of Mountain's around here but still waiting for that serious snow we should be getting. My wife is the same way, a little scared of the size though. Ok, I'll Drive LOL.
