Hello from Alamo City- SA, TX
OK, well I'm not living in San Antonio yet, but I will started the first weekend it August. Currently I live in western Texas. In college I had 1998 TJ, 4cyl. Auto, Softtop. I've got a 1990 Ford Ranger XLT now, it is old and needs to be sold to the junk yard. My wife and I are moving we accepted Jobs in the San Antonio area and our household income will quadruple once we move and start our new jobs!
So I'm looking to buy a JK to replace the Ranger. We've test driven some we are leaning toward a 2 door Rubicon, Auto, Hardtop. (wife doesn't drive a stick). I joined the forum just to get info to educate myself on the JK so I can make an informed decision when buying one. We might get an X and upgrade it, but We like the Rubicon Package. We miss the TJ I had when we met and started dating. I sold it to my father when My wife got her Honda Element and I took her old Ford Ranger.

Welcome to SA.
If you buy in SA I would reccomend you talk to Bill Taylor at Mission Jeep. He is a down to earth Jeeper, not your typical suit trying to sell a vehicle he knows nothing about. He shot me straight and when he knew his dealership could not trade for the Rubicon I wanted he called me after hours helping me find the Jeep I wanted elsewhere. I ended up buying mine over the internet 400 miles from home, but when I'm ready to buy the wifey a matching JK I'll see Bill.

Hi I'm Bismark from Down Under Queensland have my jeep jk wrangler 2 door CRD renegade since April. have only changed the tyres to a 32". still no bull bar or tow bar available in Australia yet but still hoping. Fuel consummation is now down to 10.3L/100km on the blacktop and up to 12L/100km Off Road. Love the Jeep for the Off road ability with out any modifications.

Hey Matt, i just got my 2 door JK back at the end of may, and i was also driving a 1990 ranger XLT. It is a major step up. I love it and totally would recommend it. when you move to SA let me know, and we can meet if you want. Just one word of advice: BUY IT, you will not be disappointed.

I just left SA about 6 months ago and had a TJ Rubi back then (got a JK once I got here). I absolutely loved the place. I use to go ridin with the Hummer club. They were all pretty nice, and the head guy has an Unlimited JK now I believe (in addition to a H2 on 37's). Good luck.
