San Jose, Ca
So, I guess this is the place to start. The name's Tucker. As the bit at the top says, I'm in San Jose, Ca (yes, I know, I hate the bay area hippies too). I bought an '09 X, last Friday, because I have a blown 360 in my '99 Ram and can't ride any of my bikes 'til my wrist heals from surgery. A Jeep sounds like the right way to go, right?
I've always wanted a Wrangler but the Ram kinda killed the need, for the last few years. I picked an almost optionless (3.73 and the freedom top are the only extras), black, 2dr, X. I figured, why pay for things that I'll just end up replacing anyway. Only thing I'm gonna do right now is slap on some new rubber. Those 225/75/16 Wrangler STs are barely safe on dry blacktop. I'll be putting on 285/75/16 Destination MTs, tomorrow (and putting that washer on the steering stop nut). If I can pick up a cheap, hand me down, lift, that'll be next. Other than that, I'm pretty stoked on how it came stock.
Then again, I loved my Ram too and now it has a 5.5" lift, 35" rubber and 4.11 gears...

Thanks. i've been spending the last few days reading. Had I not seen the steering stop write adjustment writeup, I might have believed the tire guys when they said I couldn't fit 285s. Woulda had to buy 5 265s but I already have a spare 285, from before I lifted my Ram. Just need to swap the rim. Wewp!
