Count me in! My friend just ran it last week without me
I have not completed the whole trail yet. Just the top section off of Kaiser Pass.

Running the trail from Kaiser Pass down to Courtwright you go down Thompson Hill (long loose steep hill climb).

Actually if you enter at Courtright you will hit the hard stuff (climbing Thompson Hill) sooner than later.

You will also drop down 'Divorce Rock' instead of going up it.

I don't know which way is easier as I have never been on this section of the trail.

This should be a fun trip. Are we hitting the trail first thing in the morning on the 14th?? My friend started the trail at 1:00pm last Thursday from the Kaiser pass side and rolled into Courtright Friday evening.

well Mike you would know better than I...LOL..I have only gone about a half mile or so from the Courtright side...I was only going by hearsay..and you know how that is...either way...we'll find out...but I suggest a Friday morning start...say meeting at Prather around 7 or 8 ish to get a good first day start that way if we move faster than expected...could get some fishing in too

Leaving early Friday morning sounds good to me. We can pick up one of those breakfast burritos in Prather for the drive up the hill. The trail is very long and an early start would be great.

You heard right Greg. The Kaiser side is also thought to be one of the challenging parts of the trail.

..I am told the trail inot coyote is a 2 mile hell...but I will try that one in a few weeks before I do the dusy[/QUOTE]
Not so 07crawler..the first section is the only tough spot. No problem in a jeep. Took my YJ in a couple of times with 33's & 4" lift. Full size trucks Iv'e gone in with all got body damage, but short wheelbase....not bad. We have talked about Red Lake on the CenCal forum. Thats right there at the Coyote trailhead..........

The gate into Coyote is the most difficult part. There is now an easier line since someone cut down a tree a few years back
The end of the trail is the next most difficult part in my opinion.
