Not sure. I was thinking two things:
- an easy snow run through Henness Pass road and up the back of Peavine Mtn over looking Reno. Then go to dinner in Reno. But not many people are up for driving those kinds of miles in one day. I'd probably stay the night in Reno and head home Sunday.

- other idea was a Rubicon Loop run.

Open to other ideas or suggetions.

what does the loop run at rubicon consist? Would you be doing the difficult parts of the trail? I've been wanting to do rubicon but don't want to spend an arm and a leg with jeep jamboree. Also saving and searching for trail spares. Please let me know next year when you plan on doing this trail I'd love to join you!

I'm game for Henness Pass - Peavine run during the holiday break. Got a bunch of commitments until then, unfortunately.

I might have to wait until then too. My power steering pump appears to have died running signal peak last night.

My wife wants to go to Gilroy for the outlet mall so I asked her if she wants to check out Hollister hills. How is that place? I will check it out on Saturday. Any tips?

Its a nice place to play around. There are 3 obstacle areas where you can test your skills. One of them is very difficult and called "Small Rubicon" or "McCrazy".
Hollister Hills SVRA also offers trails but they are not that exciting. Get a map at the entry and i recommend taking McRay trail that leads to a scenic view at the very top.

You will need to go to Upper Ranch area, don't go to the newly build off road park nearby called Hudson. Its very easy and boring eventhough they have black diamonds on some of the trails. Those are jokes.

My personal tip is in the downtown of Hollister(San Benito St), there is my favorite place for dinner called Running Rooster. Order 1/2 Garlic Rosemary Chicken and thank me later. Have fun

The Rubicon loop runs that I do consist of running in Loon to Ellis Creek, and then back out Wentworth Springs. We sometimes run to Spyder lake if the group's pace is fast enough.

The hardest parts of the trail are past Spyder.

I also do complete day runs across the trail. It's not too difficult, and a really fun run.

My club will also be doing a 1/2 snow run. This run goes up towards bowman lake for people looking to do something different.
