January Second, 2016!

I was even confused in re-reading the date. My club calls it the "half" run. It occurs on Jan 2nd.

 

That's funny and exactly how I read it. Just my luck - I'm supposed to be at a wedding in Santa Maria that day. If I don't go, I'll join ya.

 

Played in some snow last night :


We were on the way to Reno and traffic was stop and go from Boreal down. We ended up getting off the highway at Boca to take a bypass. About half way through we encountered two trucks blocking road. We asked if they needed help but they said they were "just airing down". About twenty minutes later, they asked for help. It was a Tacoma and a 4runner. After about another hour of winching and tugging we were able to get the 4runner to a position where he could drive on his own again. Turned out they were going the opposite way to avoid the same traffic jam.

 

There's a bunch of dirt roads around Boca that now that there is finally decent snow in CA that I want to get the jeep out and zip around on them.

 

Anyone going to hollister hills on Sunday?

 

Watch out for road closures. The greenies got 42 trails closed in the EDNF, as well as seasonal road closures. Now they've done the same in Placer and Nevada counties- just watch. This is why you fight the first signs of these wackos. Pretty soon you won't be able to walk off road...
