CaliJK - How did you get your 6.1 to pass CARB?

What year is your jeep, and what year is your motor? Do you have an auto or a manual?

I won't hijack this thread any further beyond your response.

I'm right in the middle of the Hemi install so no CARB test yet, but it will pass. 2008 6.1L Hemi out of Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 (with 12k miles) going into a 2007 JKU. Auto. More details in my build thread (link below).

Thanks. I'll check out the link! I found an 09 6.1 with 10K miles for just under $3K (no tranny).

Hi-jack terminated...

Hey where are you guys planning to camp? And are you planning to have a "down day" on the trail. I ask because Vince and I were hoping to have one day where we can go back and do some of the optional harder sections, like Little Sluice. Thanks.

Hopefully you'll camp at buck island as a down day. This allows you to run old sleuce in the uphill direction on your way back to little sleuce. Plus, up and down old sleuce is a GREAT night run! I hope you guys are able to do that. Also good fishing and some fantastic hiking to the waterfall on the far side of the lake. Much less bear problems at this site too.

Be sure to look for my black JKU on the 11th as we are headed through east to west (reverse direction).

OK, so no "down day" then. Vince and I (and whoever wants to who is coming from SoCal) will probably do 2 nights of camping at Buck Island so that we can run Old Sluice and Little Sluice like BKGM suggests. No worries though - it is a BIG trail! Really looking forward to this. Depending on how many folks we get from SoCal, we may just meet you at Buck Island the first afternoon so that we have manageable groups on the trail.
