Oh I am. The wife is leaving for camping this week (I have to stay, everybody else at work is on vacation). So I will be out the WRX. But the good news my dad is letting me borrow his GMC Sierra with the 8.1L Vortec in it! Talk about power the Jeep never had!

So, the claim was denied through the extended warranty company. Reports from the shop were that my planetary gears failed.

The Jeep is almost fixed and hopefully I will get it back today or tomorrow.

What was the reason they gave for denying the claim? I have not heard of planetaries crapping out on the 42RLE. Yours is a first.

Well, the claims adjuster who went out there quoted my tires as being "monstrous." He also said that they had calculated the size and they were 15% taller and 22% wider than the stock tires for the Jeep. And since these differences were greater than the allowed threshold they would not pay for my claim.

Since I was frustrated with the entire claim process I really didn't push the issue; I knew I wouldn't be able to make them "pay." Especially since the claim was for more than what I had paid for the warranty. I cancelled my extended warranty and I get a full refund, so I am really not "out" anything, except a few extra days the Jeep was in the shop.

Now, for my planetaries crapping out I don't know the full story yet. I will find that out today when I pick up the Jeep.

Insurance companies are pure evil. You have to fight tooth n nail for every cent that is owed to you. At least u were able to cancel the warranty and get your money back.

Just picked up the Jeep!

Here's what they say was "extra crispy" in my transmission: torque converter, one of my planetary gears, my reverse and 1st gear clutch packs.

Now the part list:
Input Speed Senor
Output Speed Sensor
Transmission Fluid
Overhaul kit
Torque Convertor
Front Planet
Soleniod Assembly
Pressure Soleniod
Valve Body Kit
Piston Kit

I still think it was the torque convertor that caused all your woes. Glad to see you get 'er back.
