New build
Well, I hope I got all the right parts for this thing. Heading out for the Rubicon today and meeting up with some Gary's and Greg's to tame the high sierras. Posts and pics to follow!
I realized this morning that I'd forgotten about updating my build, so here is a summary from post Rubicon trip to end of the year.
Rig handled great on the Rubicon, got some trail rash on my pretty orange fenders, and my rock rails. The Great Pumpkin went everywhere I pointed it with little drama. The 35" mud grapplers are sticky as hell, but losing tread depth quickly. Odometer sits at 13k miles, and I've enjoyed every one of them.
Since August I've added:
CB- Cobra 75, nice kit would benefit from external speaker.
Firestik- mounted to AEV tire carrier, sticks up about 10ft agl, scrapes the shit out of low ceiling parking garages, drive through kiosks, and low flying birds.
Poison Spyder Crusher Corners- I've wanted these since day one, but the hidden expenses kept forcing them down the list. Beyond purchase price, powder coating, led lights, and install added nearly a thousand dollars to the cost. Great piece of equipment, and the flush mount led's are tits.
AEV Heat reduction hood- was it a necessary mod? Not really, but I couldn't resist, needed to break up more orange, and David me me an offer I couldn't refuse.
Rigid- here is another addiction all by itself, currently have diffused duallys mounted to the tire carrier post to provide reverse lighting and for campground use. I discovered they are too diffused for back up, and too bright for camping, so I got a 6" bar to mount inside the spare tire and am reusing the duallys as fog lights up front (changing lens covers first)
The centerpiece of this build has always been a hemi engine. The frustration of waiting for AEV to release the kit has resulted in hair loss, weight gain, and anxiety...ok so that's just middle age, but still annoying. Honestly, I didn't save as much as I'd hoped and since there still isn't a confirmed release date, it's getting bumped down the list.
Instead, with some help from Santa Claus (who is a jeeper!) I'm upgrading the suspension before MOAB. EVO bolt on front coilovers are on their way from NorthRidge and getting installed this weekend. Big ups to NWBRONCO and some Costco pizza. Hopefully followed by an EVO Lever rear coilover in the next 2 months. Do me a favor and keep buying assault rifles so I can sell mine for big bucks!
Anyway, that's where she sits now, thanks for reading!

I thought 410(j)k might work as well
