Question What winch should I get?

I wanted to get some opinions on what winch i should get! Here are some options I had in mind:

Superwinch LP8500

Superwinch EPi9.0 Series Master Winch ----I reallllly like this one for some reason

WARN VR8000 8,000 lb Winch

Superwinch LP10000 Winch

WARN M8000 8000-lb Winch

I dont think I will end up using the winch a whole lot, so I cant really justify spending too much. However, I do want a high quality product that will work when I need it.

I am looking at the Recon 10500 with synthetic line. So far it's my favorite with the Engo 9K with synthetic running in 2nd place. I am looking to spend in the low $400-450 range....

So far, so good, with my LP series Superwinch.
I have not had it very long, or worked it to death.
The LP series allows you to get an affordable name brand winch.
Something you hopefully will not have to use often.
When they all start to look like close contenders start looking at the details like amperage draw and such and then weigh benefits vs cost.
Good Luck

I have really good luck with my warn xd9000i. Never any problems and use it quite a bit. I bought it used off a buddy for $550 bones so it was worth it.

how did it mount to the body armor bumper? did you have to drill any other holes? I just installed this bumper and am in the market for a winch as well.

Good question! as far as I know, the mounting holes on all winches are fairly universal. The holes lined right up with the superwinch mounting holes and it came with the hardware to bolt it down! the only problem I ran into was that the roller fairlead's mounting bolts were a little too long and they poked into the body of the winch. This problem was easily solved by putting a washer on the bolt before mounting the fairlead.

You can always double check by measuring it. I think the dimensions should be something like 4.5" by 10"
