You must be talking about Shotgun Creek. I've been down there a couple times but never wheelin. My cousins old 4x4 club use to put on April Iron Truck Challenge down there and I've helped out with it. But that's been a good 8+ years ago.

I'd be willing to check it out sometime with ya. I've got a winch and not afraid of body damage!

Yes, Shotgun Creek sounds about right. I work with another JK-Forum member who has a mildly modified Rubicon Unlimited and he may be up for a day trip. I'll check with him next week and maybe some of the Portland area members would be able to join us.

Sounds great. I'll just state I don't know the trails down there at all but there are some considered novice and think we should hit those so everyone can have fun and not be worried about having difficulties traversing them. Give us a chance to meet in person hangout and have some fun.

Well where we are talking about going is almost all the way to eugene... don't know if you're wanting to drive that far. But if we can get a couple people to go it should be a good time.

Anyone else interested in putting together a trip this weekend? Or in the next couple weeks?

10am sunday works for me. I'll PM my cell # to you both. Anyone else interested...?

Also looking at Oregon parks and web website you'll need a OHV tag to be legal. I already have mine but if you don't or can't pick one up before the trip I don't know how worried I'd be...

Good news/ bad news. The good news is that I picked up a trail map for shotgun creek. The bad... there is only one trail (1.33 miles long) that is open to class II rigs aka full size 4x4's.

I drove down there and that's where I picked up the map. Spent a little time to try to locate the trail that was open but had no luck. But it was getting dark, GPS going dead, didn't tell anyone I was heading down there so I didn't explore to much. Thought, opinions?

I got the PM from both of you. How about meeting at the Restaurant behind the 76 Truck Stop (and best western motel) at the Brownsville exit of I-5 (mile post 216) at 10:00 Sunday morning.

If you are heading South on I-5, take the Hwy 228 exit and take a left. The truck stop is on the east side of the exit and on your right immediately after crossing over the freeway.

My cell died a horrible death by drowning last weekend on the farm, so I am cell less at the moment. I don't know if I will have it replaced by then (I want an iPhone), so communication will have to be by this thread or PM.

Thanks,

-mel
