Venus and Jupiter are in conjunction this week and should make for some really nice photos! Look in the western sky right after sunset. You can't miss them.

Good full moon this coming weekend, moonrises near dusk on Friday (my area of the east coast) and just after dark on Saturday. Going to use my 400mm for the first time.

Default Full Moon on May 5th to be bright.

From what I have read the full moon next month on the 5th is supposed to be brightest full moon until 2018. Here is a couple of photos I took last Friday.

I shot this with a modified (IR cut filter removed and replaced with a Baader filter that allows more H@ light through) Canon 5DM2 and a Canon 400mm f2.8 lens on an equatorial tracking mount.
