Not even close to blurring the line between photography and art but.... I like the photo anyway.

I took about 500 images of these two along with one of the parents. I haven't had time to process more than a few. I'll post more when I get them done.

hey dave, sorry i didnt see this sooner...

i spoke to the Ranger shortly after I took the shot and he told me that there are two mating pairs in the area and both females had just laid eggs. shortly before i took the shot, both females were on the nest.

these are from our recent trip to New England...

the Moose was just about 15 feet from us... she was so close i could smell her and oh my god did she stink! we were in Baxter state park for that one.

The momma and cubs were on the Auto road on Mount Washington NH

thanks for the mental imagery Toad, i really could have done without that!

there were apparently some calves running around the park, we didnt see them.

Nice shots! cute kids too!

i really like the spiders... they can make nice subjects. ive been a "fan" of spiders since i was bitten by a Brown Recluse Spider... i was mildly poisoned by the litte bastard!

Ok......you'll have to elaborate on that now. I've killed a few big bull moose in the rut and I know that they stink because they piss into a whole (a waller) and roll around in it. But as far as them stinking "because" of mating....well I'd like to hear what that's all about. Unless it's just because the urine rubs off on the cow when they're doing the "wild thing". But he said this cow stunk when she had calves, so it couldn't have been during the rut.

i think she just stunk because she was dirty...

Dr.McNinja.... you lucky bastard! i was in an Outing Club when i was in college, we had a professional "Birder" in for an exhibit. he had an eagle there but we werent able to hold it! they are truly magnificent birds, i was stoked to be able to see them in the wild
