Wow, beautiful picture. I would love to be there. How old is your dad?

Mid 40's I have been in the navy for about 5 years now and he came out to visit me. Pretty proud time in my life, I gave him his own room to sleep in and hauled his a$$ up a mountain bigger than he has ever seen

If you want to get one with a knife, evidently, you want to get close and personal with the hog. Good luck.

I love hiking, backpacking and climbing mountains with my son. Of course, I'm 61 and he's 20, so he's a lot faster than me. And it's nothing technical. But, the time together can't be beat.

We hiked 95 miles to get to top of this one--Tooth of Time, NM.

Mid forties is far from being old. Remember what you said when you reach that age, you will realize you are not over the hill, unless some physical problem happens. At that age and beyond, I attended several physically demanding SWAT schools and out did a number of the guys in their twenties and thirties.
What do the rest of you 45 year and over "Old Farts" have to say?

I'll be 55 this April, and I know that I have more endurance and strength than a lot of 40 year olds I know. I know guys that are even older than me that work out and have said they are in the best shape of their lives. So yeah......40 something is still pretty young. I was still hunting Dall sheep in my 40s and still hope to again this year.
