Here's a few from my weekend trip to the B&O in Baltimore, MD...
probably my favorite engine in the place... and i rode in this engine before it was retired. They had a larger Shay before but Cass wanted it back... so they did a trade, they gave the museum a small shay and another engine so they could have the larger one.
one big ass engine... its surprisingly bigger and more powerful then the UP Bigboy, and its sporting a 2-6-6-6 wheel config.
and the apperantly found this old slug somewheres...
and the rest of these are HDR's...
i know this thing looks like something to be used in Madmax but it was a clearance checker for tunnels...
an old local...

My son and I are planning a steam train chase across southern Wyoming April 12th. They haven't decided which steam engine is going on the trip yet. If all goes well I will post some pics afterwards. I am enjoying all the train pics posted here. Thanks so much everyone!

lucky! hope you have fun and look forawards to seeing the pictures.
i'm waiting for may 16th personally. one of the local train companies is having their first run of the year with their steam engine. a 11 hour round trip steam excursion (4 hours one way with a 3 hour layover). still not sure if i want to ride it or chase it...
