Default Off Road Vegas Style

WHAT'S UP 702!?!?! Celebrating my birthday in Vegas this weekend. I'm leaving for Vegas tonight in my 12 jk rubi. I live in orange county, and I have family in Henderson so I'm in Vegas alot. I'm at work right now so I can't check, but I heard of an OHV area about an hour north of the strip with trails. Was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of where it is and what to expect. Also, I think there is an off road route to LV BLVD from Primm. I was wondering if anyone has ever taken it before. I know traffic is gonna suck tonight so I was thinking of taking the short cut.

Thanks

Did you end up finding a road? I am heading out there soon and that traffic is the worst. Would love to skip it.

No, didn't really have time to research it. But, I know there is some stuff to explore out to the right before Henderson. I think you can catch the trail from the Frontier (I think thats what the hotel is called) where the Shell gas station is after Primm. Also, there is a railroad track out to the left with some trails and an abandoned quarry off of ST Rose. It's the exit for THE M hotel right after u turn around the last hill and see the strip.

Hey fellow jeeper, I think the OHV area an hour north of Vegas is gonna be Logandale, It is an amazing network of trails and there is stuff from mild to wild. The new issue of JP magazine has like a five page write up of an event out there called hump and bump. As far as the road out there by state line, I know there is a paved road which is old Las Vegas Blvd. but I have not explored the off road stuff out there... I'd google map the area and see if you can do it. My buddy lives up there in Henderson and has done a bunch of trials over ther so I know they exists. He has a Rubicon TJ so he is not on this site... You can probably get a hold of him on the Warmachines702 website by the name of Hendotj. Its just a local jeep club in Vegas. Think we are doing a run Fri morn if you are in town. Hope this helps out.

Hey, thanks 2012. I'll be back mid April for a birthday so I'll definitely have to Cruz out there. My cousins go to Red Rock all the time so I'm pretty sure you've served em up a few. When I head up there next ill be sure to look up the old LV blvd road and report back.
