Default Spidertrax spacers question

I'm considering purchasing a set of Spidertrax wheel spacers from a local guy who no longer has his Jeep. They are 2" spacers, I originally wanted 1.5".

Are there any issues or concerns using 2" spacers on stock Ruby wheels and tires? I plan on getting 35" tires later on when my stock tires wear out.

Will the 2" place too much stress on the axels, bearings, etc... ?

Anyone have pictures with this setup?

I wasn't aware they made 2" spacers... I checked their site about a week ago when I ordered and 1.5" were the max, so that's what I ordered. May want to double check, and if they are spidertrax the question becomes: why did they stop making 2"?

Despite what people tell you, a good spacer like spidertrax will not place any additional strain on hubs, bearings, etc. Its no different than having a wheel with lower backspacing.

Hm, I had never heard of 2" Spidertrak either, the pictures definitely look like Spidertrax and the guy told me they were 2". Maybe they are only 1.5", I am picking them up this afternoon, I'll keep you posted.

I just got the Rough Country 2.5" spacers. I don't see any problem with additional stress on the lugs.

OK, just picked them up, I paid $100 for all four. They are 1.5" as suspected, however the part number is WHS-114. What I had seen before for the Spidertrax was part# WHS-010, could these be an old part number from Spidertrax?

Also, can anyone tell me what compound I need to put on the lugs?

The guy told me I needed to get a set of plastic rings from a wheel store I have never heard of these before.

Awesome price! I got mine for $130 shipped and was happy with that. I dunno about the model numbers but when I put mine on I used the Red Loctite Thread Locker and torqued them to 90-95 lbs. I had to put my rig in 4wd to do it as I was installing them alone. Also, after about 100 miles recheck the torque to make sure nothing came loose, check torque to about 80-85 so that you don't break your threadlock.

Red Loctite on the lugs, but I have no idea what plastic spacers he's talking about. Did they come off a JK? With the 5x5 spacing?

I think the plastic rings are to make non-hubcentric rims compatible with the hubcentric spacers. If you are using stock rubi wheels you should not need these.

Not to be that guy, but using Red Loctite on lugs is like pouring cement around your above ground pool.

Red Loctite is used for things you don't want to come off unless heated up or using a 3/4" impact to take it off.

Blue loctite on the other hand will be plenty of strength for ensuring that those wheel spacers will not come off easily.
