Does JEEP-USA Make Diesel Wranglers?
Chrysler-Philippines has started selling Wranglers in Manila 3 years ago that are imported from the US of A. These have gasoline/petrol engines. I have been holding my decision to get a Rubicon with the hope that a diesel version will be made available. However, recently a salesman confided to me that come June, diesel Rubicons will debut here in Manila. I heard they will be driven by a 2.8 Turbo-diesel engine. Given the fact that all of their cars are imported from the US, I surmise that these diesel Rubicons must be US made. Am I right?

Right hand drive and diesel engined overseas market JK's are assembled and shipped from Toledo, OH, USA.
If I remember correctly the Egyptian jeeps are a different breed. Stuff like that military model with the leaf sprung semi-floating Dana 60 rear axle and diesel engine.

Since EU will now have the same regulations as the US the existing 2.8 diesel won't pass there any longer either. I would assume there is a new diesel coming just because of that. Coupled with the new CAFE standards coming here in 2015 I'd be pretty surprised if we don't see diesels appearing in a lot of new vehicles in the next couple years.
