Default Lift/Suspension Suggestions Please

Hey everyone, I drive a 2013 Wrangler and know very little about lifts. I was thinking I might want to go with a 3.5 inch to give me some clearance for bigger tires. However, I am a college student so money is tight right now. What are your suggestions on how to get my rig looking and driving a little tougher?

If you haven't already done so, read "My Thoughts on Lifts" by TheDirtman, especially if you have no experience with lifts.

That being said, 3.5" is a pretty big lift and will cost you a lot to do it properly. You can clear 35's on stock suspension with some trimming or just add a small spacer lift. I would caution you about cheap lifts; they will get you the height but lack many necessary parts that you will probably add later to fix a shitty ride. If you really want to go 3+ inches, keep saving. My $.02.

Stick to the 2.5" budget boost from Teraflex or something similar. Will keep it on the cheap. Many people on these forums (including me) either run that kit, or ran it before upgrading.

Agree on the budget boost if on a tight budget. Also if willing to spend a little more look at the RK 1.5" lift.

I went with the Rancho 2" lift with adjustable shocks. All round I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I spent a lot of time on forestry roads and very happy with the quality versus what I spent.

I love the "I am on a budget but I have the money to spend on big tires that I don't need" thread.

Like others have said a simple 1.75"-2" budget boost along with some shock extenders, longer sway bar links and +-2" extended bump stops should be all you need.

Good luck with the build.
