Default Regearing my jk

I have a 2015 Sahara jku that came with 3:21s. I was Gna re-gear ton4:10 but I know the older axles, if u went from 3:42 to lower like 4:10 then you had to get a new carrier. I'm kinda on a budget so if I can go 4:10 with the stock Carrier then I'm good. Any input would be great.

Your going to need new carriers. Honestly I would just save a little longer throw front and rear lockers in with the re-gear and I would recommend new axle shafts but the OEM ones are fine.

I'm running 305/70-18 right now n it's gutless. I had stock tires n tried pulling a trailer with a medium size tractor n it was gutless. Which I am to expect with the current gearing.

Loaded carriers cost around $200 or less. An E-Locker carrier cost around $900 for the rear and $800 for the front. I gave my front open away to a friend that blew his. But I do have a Rear 44 open loaded with 9K miles on it.

*Edit*
I'm going to list it on Ebay I'm only a (106) but I am a Top Rated seller

Just a heads up, the rear is good for any ratio it's only the front that had the ratio split

Like they said, you only need a new front carrier. The rear is the same for all ratios. If you want to keep the front differential open like it is now, an OEM Spicer carrier for the lower ratio is less than $80 from a few places, so it's a minimal cost compared to the gears and labor.

Depending on local shop prices, you're probably paying $1500-$2000 to get the new gears installed? I wouldn't consider an $80 open carrier for the d30 to be a deal breaker...

And as mentioned, if you were even considering adding traction, now is the time. It'll save paying the same labor costs again. Doesn't even have to be thousand dollar selectables, the Detroit Truetrac is a great option for many of us.

You might even keep an eye on craigslist to see if you can find a take-off front d44 from a rubicon.

I agree there was a guy on here that sold his factory LSD or like $150. It was under the drivetrain section.... I found it it was for the rear but people selling are out there.

If your going to have it all apart try to at least upgrade a little.
