Default Bilstein front install shock help!

I installed the AEV 2.5 lift all day yesterday and finished everything except the front shocks. After three hours of fighting them, there just isn't enough thread on the top to bolt it down. It barely lines up with the top hole on both sides. How in the world do you tighten them down with basically zero thread on top? I can't even put the top washer/rubber bushing on the top. There would be no way. What am I doing wrong?

do you have the spaceers on correctly? they go opposite of what you would think ie they top the cup side is facing up and the bottom down if that makes sense.

also on the pass. side trim the bottom of the battery tray a bit with a side cutters or dremel tool etc. gives you more room to work.

Here are pics of what is going on. The threads barely stick through the top without and washer etc even on top yet.

it will go just put the rubber bushings on right and it will go. just get one thread going and the bushings compress. I just did mine so fresh in my mind.

Default Bushings??

Looks to me like your only supposed to have one rubber bushing. I'm not sure about that brand but the TeraFlex Fox shocks don't have huge rubber bushings like that. I'm sure someone on here has put those on. I'm wondering if something is wrong with the shocks.

Did you install the top first? If not, maybe you can jack it up a bit from under the lower mount?

That's next on the list. I can't move my arms right now due to exhaustion so I'm picking this back up in a few hours.

yours has two rubber bushings, one is on top of the shock mount and one is on the bottom. he is just trying to show the thickness in relationship to the stud. He has the right bushings.

Ok I see... How bout just using the old bushings from the old shocks? I mean it's just a piece of rubber.
